Jessica Iridescent Eye & Bundle Monster Stamping

Hi everyone!

Today I have some stamping to show you.

Last night I painted my nails with a newly acquired polish, Iridescent Eye by Jessica.
I believe its a dupe for Chanel Peridot, or at least, close enough.
I really love the colour, which is multi-chromatic showing gold, green and blues.
However, once I had it on my nails, I thought it looked a little plain, and the boyfriend agreed!
Despite it nearly being time for bed, I whipped out the stamping polish and sifted through all my plates.

I chose this plate from the new 2012 Bundle Monster set, I believe it is plate 312.

I tried to capture the colour shift in the polish, but it wasn't easy! Straight on, the colour looks greenish gold me me, with hints of copper in the middle of the nail.

On other angles, the edges lean to a darker blue colour.

On extreme angles, a lot more of the blue colour is visible!

I also recently added some cute puzzle stamps to a recent manicure, using a blue Sally Hansen chrome polish.

Orly Sweet Peacock, one of my all time favourite colours!

Some new brooches from Yippy Whippy and two OCC Lip Tars in Vintage and Katricia, I can't wait to try them out!

And I baked pink love heart cookies :3

And a Pokemon Ditto cookie for my boyfriend!

Until next time,

Sam

Stamping Nails!

Hi everyone!

Today I have a few nails from the past week to show you!

I received my 2012 Bundle Monster plates in the mail recently, and I really love them! I've been getting back into stamping and have been having a blast :)

This was the first mani I did using the plates. The base is OPI Ink, the barbed wire was stamped with China Glaze Millennium and the roses with OPI An Affair in Red Square. It looked amazing in person, it was hard to photograph!

Next up I used another plate to do this cute design. The base is A England Order of the Garter, stamped with a Sally Hansen pink chrome polish. I have 4 of these old chromes and I love them all for stamping!

Here is another stamping adventure that I really enjoyed! Its Sinful Colors Forget Now and a bundlemonster stamp in Konad Black. I love the sparkles in this pink!

Here is my Saturday night mani, even though I didn't go out and was just home alone!
Its a base of Essence - Hazelnut Cream Pie, a nude that matches my skin tone great, with a subtle pink shimmer. The accent nail is China Glaze Aquadelic. The glitter is my top fave polish, Butter London Tart with a Heart. I love the iridescent glitter, and the fine black glitter in it too! <3 <3 <3

This is my current mani done late last night, so no stamping. I just wanted to get something on my nails and then go to bed! It is a coat of black, and two coats of Misa Caravan Chic! So pretty, I love the depth the black adds to this polish. I would still like to try this over a similar base colour, I think its too sheer to wear alone, you would need too many coats.

And now some other random photos from the weekend!

Makeup and brown contacts I wore last night to visit my parents for dinner. Eyeshadow is Sugarpill Acidberry and lipstick is Lime Crime Centrifuschia

I just ordered this shirt, I hope it fits!
Saturday night watching tv, one of my cats fell asleep with his paw on my shoulder. Awwww, Fatty <3

Trying to get a good photo of my green contact lenses, and my boyfriend photobombing! I'm trying not to laugh in this photo

My outfit last night to visit my parents. The jumper is actually more of a lime green, not yellow but my phone camera couldn't handle it! Also all my lipstick has rubbed off here. This photo was taken in my old bedroom, since moving out they have turned it into a second lounge room!

And that is it for today!

I got my new green and brown contact lenses in the mail this week so I look forward to doing a review soon!
I'm going out this weekend, so I plan to do something cool for my Friday the 13th nails!

Until next time,
Sam :)

Cute Kitty Animal Onesie!

Hi everyone!

Today I'm showing you my most recent purchase, this super cute Cat Onesie!

My friend came over on Saturday night and he was telling us how his sister had a retail store opening the next day and we should come along.

After seeing some pictures of the super cool costumes she had for sale, we were sold!

The store is called 'I Can Say I've Seen It' and it is located at 33 Johnston St, Collingwood, Victoria, Australia.

As well a a really big selection of onesies, she also sells lots of cute and funny knick knacks, like bacon shaped bandaids, wallets that look like toast... the list goes on!

Some of the other designs I saw in stock in the costumes were, bat, shark, pink or blue (and white) unicorns, bears... plus some licensed ones including, The Cheshire Cat, Stitch and Jack Skellington.

Some of the costumes were made of a thinner towelling type material, others were made of a thicker polar fleece.

My cat outfit is a polar fleece one!

So why would you buy one of these? Well, I recently moved out of home and away from our lovely central heating. Our current house gets REALLY DAMN COLD in winter (its winter right now here in Australia) and this onesie keeps me SUPER WARM. I find it especially comfortable with a pair of leggings on underneath, plus it IS super cute. They would also be great for parties, Halloween, to wear to outdoor festivals to keep warm or even as a cosplay?

The quality is really good, the buttons are all securely attached and the stitching is great.
The polar fleece feels like good quality too. It has elasticated arm and feet holes, and the hood is a good size, especially for my huge head!

These cost AU $75 dollars, and the licensed ones are AU $85 dollars, not a cheap purchase, but for me, it is worth it to keep warm, and it ends up being cheaper if we don't have to turn on the heater!

A friend told me you can buy these in Japan and you would be looking at around AU $45 dollars, however, then you must factor in postage (or travelling to Japan o__O), plus I enjoyed supporting my friends sister.

Overall, I really love it and do not regret buying it! My boyfriend also loves it and can't stop telling me how cute I look in it (awwww), he also really wants one so we should be heading back soon so he can pick up a skeleton one!

My cats were impressed with the costume ^__^

If you would like, you can check out the store on Facebook here:

or their eBay store here:

they also have an instagram: @I_can_say_ive_seen_it

What do you think? Do you like it? Do you think its weird? Would you wear one?

Until next time!

Nails and Outfits Photo Post!

Hey everyone,

So real life and work really took over in the lead up to the end of the financial year! I was pretty much just working then going home to bed! Thankfully it's started to calm down a little again and I can focus more on the fun stuff in life!

Thought I would do a quick update with some pictures of recent manis and some outfits too!

During June, I haven't done heaps, but my boyfriend and I did go to Sydney to a big metal music show up there, and got to catch up with some friends, that was heaps of fun!

My boyfriends band also had their EP launch, which went really well!

This is my current mani, Zoya Sooki and OPI Pirouette my Whistle! Zoya Sooki is my perfect red creme!

Here's an outfit I wore in Sydney to go out to dinner at an all you can eat Brazillian BBQ place, it was AMAZING!
I have a mens shirt on from Jay Jays that I bought a few years ago, leather jacket and Black Milk Clothing leggings!

Nails done with China Glaze Fast Track and I used a stencil to paint the skull!

These nails are an Essence brand, Hazelnut Cream Pie, it has a slight pink shimmer through it, and a light purple glitter from the NOPI Justin Beiber collection

My accessories and you can kind of see my makeup, from last friday nights trip to a local brewery for my friends birthday.

Recently I also bought some purple contacts! This isn't a great picture, but I will do a full review on them soon, as I have just ordered more colours!

Here is a look using Lime Crime pink and peach from the Palette D'Antoinette line! Love these neon pastels!

OPI My Pointe Exactly and OPI Pirouette my Whistle! Loved this one!

Potterthon! Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince

Hi everyone!

So here is the next set of nails for Potterthon! Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince.

The book was a really exciting one for me, I loved reading it and the good old fashioned mystery that surrounded the Half Blood Prince. I also really liked the scenes where Harry learned more of the past of Voldemort in order to learn to fight him better.

It also sees the revelation of information regarding the Horcruxes to Harry and gives an indication of the themes for the final novel.

HBP also led to a lot of rampant discussion and speculation regarding the true loyalties of Snape and revealed a little more of the depth to his character.

For my HBP nails I chose to  represent on my pinkie, the Sectumsempra spell, 'for enemies' which Harry finds in the HBP Potions book and uses on Malfoy.

On my ring finger is a piece of crystallised pineapple, Slughorns favourite sweet, my middle finger is the cave which Harry and Dumbledore travel to, to find the locket, with the basin full of glowing green potion. My pointer finger is of course the note, found inside the locket at the end of the novel, signed R.A.B and my thumb is the rings of fire Dumbledore creates to scare off the Inferi in the cave.

Stay tuned for the next installment in a few hours, the final book, The Deathly Hallows!

Potterthon! HarryPotter and the Order of the Pheonix

Hi everyone!

Sorry for falling behind on posting, the weekend ended up being really busy for me and I don't think I had my computer on for more than five minutes! Don't you just hate when real life catches up with you? ;)

Anyway, here are my nails for Order of the Pheonix! There is a lot of great scenes in this book, but in the end I decided to go with the one scene that stuck with me the most. So sudden I almost didn't register what had happened the first time I read it.. Sirius falls through the veil. I always find the scene a bit rough on me! My favourite character dying in such a sudden way with pretty much no closure.

For ages I insisted that he wasn't really dead and he would re-appear again, much like Harry feels in the books.

But he doesn't! :(

Its a turning point for the character of Harry, as he gains then looses his parental figure/older brother figure.

My manicure mostly shows the veil, with Sirius's hand as he falls backward and through while fighting Bellatrix.
On the thumb, I painted the Prophecy, which Harry hears in the Hall of Prophecy at the Ministry.

I did like the OotP book, though I haven't read it in a while and I'm pretty sure, this book is the one where Harry just WHINES a lot, and that really did start to drive me crazy!

Anyway, once again sorry for the lateness of my posts, the next book will be up in a few hours!

Don't forget to check out the other ladies who participated!

Potterthon! Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

Hi everyone!

Here is day 4 of Potterthon, The Goblet of Fire.

I must admit this mani and tomorrows, I am kind of disappointed in. I did them both last night but I was really tired after going to gym (I'm still wearing my gym clothes here haha) and seeing some friends... So they aren't really up to scratch! I was also a little uninspired as my ring finger nail got bumped yesterday, as my nails are still very thin, a huge chunk came off, now it is a super nubbin! D:

So much stuff happens in GoF. I really liked the book but I was really disappointed in the movie, I think it's the worst film. It skipped heaps of stuff, changed things around and I think it relied too heavily on the assumption that everyone watching it had read the books. But it did have David Tennant in it, so that made it a little bit better.

The books have some great moments I wanted to capture and originally I had planned to do the goblet, a dragon, the mermaid from the bathroom... But I just ran out of time starting the nails after 9pm.

Instead I decided to do one scene which is a standout for me in the book and very exciting! The moment that Harry confronts Voldemort in the graveyard. Voldemort uses Avada Kedavra and Harry uses Stupefy. The red and green streaks meet and the wands link, drawing out the images of the last spells that the wand of Voldemort had used. The moment between Harry and the Spectres of his parents always makes me sad.

My nails depict the spells and the meeting of them in the middle!
It's a little hard to tell, but the middle nail has some shimmery blue sparks as well as some of OPI's Save Me on there, silver glitter and pink and blue bar glitter.

Stay tuned tomorrow for Goblet of Fire! From the sounds of some of the other entries, some of the other ladies didn't like this book, but I do! Apart from whinging Harry haha.

Potterthon! Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban

Hi everyone!

So here we are at day 3 of Potterthon, I hope you are enjoying it!

Today's entry is about The Prisoner of Azkaban. This is the book that really kickstarted my love of the books, I think partly because when it was released it was at the right reading level for my age.

But mostly, it introduced my favorite characters, Sirius and Remus. It also gave us more of a look into the past to the lives of Harry's parents in school.

It also got me into the dreaded world of fanfiction.. Yeah I went there, maybe some of you did too!
The very best one was Shoebox Project and my friends and I read it every week it was released! The author also ended up writing some excellent novels which were published and are some of my favourites ever!

ANYWAY... The book really develops characters and relationships I think and for that, I love it. It starts to set the real tone for the rest of the novels.

My mani for this book, well it was hard to decide as there is lots of choices! However I ended up doing something certainly influenced by the book and something that is also important to me and my memories of reading Harry Potter.

The middle finger is a night sky, with a star and moon.. One one side is a black dog/Sirius/Padfoot/the Grimm ;) and on the other is a werewolf/Remus/Moony. On my pinkie is a little rat, that's Wormtail/Peter and on my thumb (don't look too hard, it's terrible!) is what is SUPPOSED to be a deer/Prongs/James.

These are the characters I love the best and the third book really gives you a sense of the important bond of friendship in the group, as shown between Sirius and Remus and the effect that betraying your friends can have.

Do you like Book 3?

Looking forward to tomorrow!

Don't forget to check out the other ladies doing this challenge!
